Stamp: All Art by Silver-Chocolate Stamp: All Art by Silver-Chocolate
"I support all art
    do you?"
I mean original art, of course. Many was confused about this statement. When I wrote it, I didn't think of fanart is not art. I just thought original art is an artwork you made from scratch. Be it by using someone else character but the drawings, the work are made on your own. That's what I meant. I hope this can clear things up a little bit.

Was trying to make a coloured border stamp and some non-animated pixel sparkles. If you support this stamp, please fave it. Comments are welcome.

Does that mean you support garbage such as screenshot edits where little kids take two screenshots, cut them out, and paste them together and call it 'art'? I'll support crossovers if they're drawn. But not made out of screenshots. Editing screenshots is not art in any way shape or form as far as I am concerned. I'm not trying to be mean, just trying to be matter of factly.

:puke: You don't get out much do you?  My answer to this is definitely not. I could link you to an art sites that would probably make you lose all faith in humanity,  literally, for at least a few solid months after just one viewing. To say you support that is saying some pretty damned bad stuff about yourself.

The definition of art is quite different for everybody. To me, and probably the maker of this stamp, art is self expression in a way that does not make the common people 'lose all faith in humanity'.

"The definition of art" is irrelevant in this topic, as it seems we are actually talking about "all art" in terms of its entirety, not its essence. (Think: Objective not subjective)
And please don't try to justify the stamp by adding words or opinions which the stamp does not contain beyond its 6 words. Instead take the words for their exact meaning just as I have, adding nothing, nor taking anything away from them. Then tell my your opinion of it.
" I support ALL ART" not 25% of its total quantity, but rather 100% of it, meaning exactly "all art". Which includes sick art too.

Then the stamp finishes by asking "do you?" When this phrase is taken for its exact meaning "it asks for my opinion" and so I gave it, only I did not give it in support, but it did not ask for support did it? So your objection to my reply is irrelevant. The stamp asked for an honest answer, I gave an honest answer. How have I wronged anyone by obliging.

What does going out has to do with viewing art site online?

I made this stamp based on type of art I've seen. The terms of art may differ from each person. I'm not saying you must agree with my stamp. No one is obliged to. And it doesn't mean I should choose to agree wholeheartedly with your statement either.

Each person has different kind of point of view based on what they have seen and experience. If you disagree, I'm fine. I don't know what you have seen made you think I'm a bad person though. When you wrote that, I guess that is something you known which are not known by me. I wouldn't like to be judged on something I do not know about.

Well your stamp doesn't say all that does it? It says "all art" which in old English translate to "all art" meaning all of it. Basically you should revise the stamp to say "some art" because all art is not exactly favourable as I demonstrated. And no this does not make you a bad person, it just make you look like a bad person, even though that's not the case.

If I put some art, it's just the same thing. "Oh you support this art and not this art?" or "What makes you think this is not art?" or "Who are you to think that this is art and that is not art?" Whichever way it's, people are just going to debate over it no matter how many times I revised the stamp. That's how I think it is.

Honestly, the reason you're getting flack is the "do you?" added to the end. It's an idiom that implies "so should you" this can be taken as condescending weather you're implying it or not. And as I've outlined, not everyone's experience in the art world was a quite as positive as yours. So we offer a very resounding "No!" to your question and mean it. We hate the art we've seen, we wish we hadn't. So If your going to change the stamp to tone down the critiques, that's the change that's needed.

Like I've said. People disagree and they said 'no', I'm fine. Even if I change the stamp, nothing is going to change. People are just going to debate over it.

That's true. Which is why I said "reduce" the amount of critiques the stamp generates. "Do you" is the term which calls others to join you. And since I've seen some pretty sick art I'd rather not be brought into that thinking. Because two kinds of people will present this stamp on their profile. One will be like you whom sees it as meaning all art forms. The other will be sexual fetish artists and worse, whom wish the world would accept them as some how being normal. Personally I fret to think of a world were that level of wired is accepted and normal.

What a knee-jerk reaction, do you even know what forms of "art" I do not respect?

I am sick of this hippy crap where everyone has to be respected and appreciated and told they are a wonderful special snowflake. Here is what you dont understand about art... its all art no matter what, but it can still suuuuuuuuuck!

Art can be both good and bad.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO *LOOKS AT MY ART* NOOOOOOOO YOU THINK?!?! Why dont you put that in a memo and entitle it "SHIT I ALREADY KNOW!"

The problem with this mentality that "everything is art" is somehow the belief that art cannot and should not be criticized, when in fact it needs to be in order for it to be improved, in order for the artist to grow and change and to add something to the medium that they utilize.

The problem with the mentality that "it sucks therefore isnt art" is that it is a stupid god awful lie, this person in their attempt to be "supportive" is just being a hippy douche because they dont want to have their work or some friend of theirs or someone criticized for their work.

fact is criticism and art go hand-in-hand, you cant just childishly deflect criticism, nor dismiss any art as being worthy of criticism by saying "its not art" because that isnt constructive.

The word art has a broad meaning. I don't think anyone would ever have the accurate answer about what art really is. People see them in their own ways. You may think it's not art but it may be for other people. But in the end, is there really a point of arguing? After all, I don't really get which type of art that you dislike.

you miss the point, anything can be art... but that doesn't automatically mean its good at it.

art can be bad and good.

I am not declaring taht something isnt art, I am looking at it... saying its art... and then saying its bad anyways.

Just because something is art doesnt mean its automatically good... nor do I have to respect it, I can think certain types of art are pathetic, stupid, ignorant, or pointless... but I will not claim it doesnt have a right to exist.

A-huh. As I mentioned earlier, people see art in their own ways. It may look good in your eyes but some other people may think not. So, I don't quite get what you are trying to say.

But you see that isnt how I see art, that is just the way art is... there is an objective component to everything. If someones goal is to draw a beautiful woman, and they fail in that goal... then the art is poor... no if ands or buts.

If someone wants to relay a specific emotion, and it relays a different one... its a failure...

And sometimes the people who make art are incredible shitheads and convey things that are evil, and cruel, and malicious... this is a failing in themselves, there are good and bad people in the world and creativity is not always a good thing for everyone.

As crappy as the third never ending story was... its entire plot with Jack Blacks character was essentially thus... creativity has a dark side.
